Upgrading a lock or replacing a worn cylinder? A little knowledge saves a wasted trip.
Cylinders vs full locks
Often you only need the cylinder — the part that the key turns — not the whole deadbolt. Replacing just the cylinder is cheaper and lets you keep your existing hardware.
Keying alike
If you’re replacing several cylinders, have them keyed alike so one key runs every door. We can supply cylinders and keys to match.
Grade matters
Look for a solid deadbolt with a hardened bolt for exterior doors. Ask us which options resist bumping and picking.
